The Fire Persists – And So Do I

Rumors of my death have been surprisingly accurate. Those same rumors do little to shine light on my rebirth. The real question is, will I be a zombie which has found himself in reasonable circumstances that I am destined to desecrate… or some sort of bird with flames that does the resurrection thing. In the last year, my life has changed significantly. I have moved my family from a 2 star hotel to a program for homeless families that allowed me to eventually get into my own apartment. I have gone through significant therapy, allowing me to address some short comings and some significant trauma. I have found employment that…

Torn City – This Game Needs a Seat Item

In Torn City, as the advertising goes, you can be anything. Except both female and unharassed. Yet to address that statement, I need to fill anyone reading this in on a bit of backstory: I have been playing Torn for a few years at this point. I have terrible stat growth (I’m level 99 and yet only have about 5M stats total, which means lower level people are attacking me all the time.) I offset this by having stats where it matters (an ever-improving karma score; 32 weapons at 100% and counting.) None of those stats seem to matter more than my Gender stat, which is currently female. But, I…

Review – Isekai Park, A Whimsical Slice-of-Life LitRPG

Do you like dungeon core stories? Do you like theme park games? Have you ever found yourself asking out loud “I sure wish there was a dungeon core story about a main character who was a manager of a theme park in a realm between Earth and the spirit realms that had a sense of adventure and solid progression but also wasn’t afraid to laugh at itself now and again?” Do you want a story that is a solid mixture of cute and adventure? If you answered any of those questions, why are you talking to yourself? Also, why aren’t you reading Wolfe Locke’s newest story, Isekai Park? Consider purchasing…

THIS BEAUTIFUL WORLD IS SAFE AND IT’S ALL THANKS TO YOU

It would probably help if I updated my website more than once a year. Truth be told, part of the reason I haven’t been active on this website is because a lot of my writing energy has been placed on my Kindle Vella Story “Gods Cannot Pray” which is a stat-heavy Progression Fantasy LitRPG I’m becoming more and more excited about. Vella is Amazons’ serialize content website, and while it is likely most popular for its romance stories it certainly does have its fans among the fantasy fiction crowd. The plan is to continue to update my story chapter by chapter, keep it up for about a month when the…

how long does it take for a past to die

It has been a very busy 10 months. Perhaps a busy lifetime, but definitely a busy 10 months. Recap: I, a single parent of three, found myself spiraling because the place I had rented for over 5 years had been sold out from underneath me. Needing to find a new place to move, and willing to make a large change in my life, I moved from the town I had been staying for over 11 years back to the home town I had grown up in, in Bitterroot Valley, Montana. I had assistance from my brother, whom I had not seen in almost two decades. An entire house stockpiled with…

Review – Reincarnation Trials: A LitRPG Apocalypse: Systems of Salvation, Book 1

In space, no one can hear you scream at the rogue AI protecting Earth the way she feels is best. Yan Hang’s first book in the Systems of Salvations series is an interesting mesh of soft science fiction, political intrigue, and American Wild West survival. There are times I’m not sure it should work, and times I’m not even sure it did work, but never was there a doubt in my mind that the world the author created was interesting and entertaining. Purchasing this book from the above banner, or this link, could lead to a commission for the website. 400 years ago, biological weapons known as Narocks have escaped…

Torn City – When Scamming in Global Backfires

Sometimes new players are the best source of fun. So, pretense – a kid in Global Chat was begging for $50M, clearly a scam, whatever. He was getting a bit lippy. So I told him I’d send him $5M. And I did – as a bounty. Five hundred thousand torn dollars, ten times (the maximum active bounties you can have at one time.) He got someone to claim them all, so I hospitalized him and bountied him 10 more times. That brings us to: I got Rachless in this screenshot; he is a reviver that got scammed by this newbie boobie. Apparently our hero Crazyman01 doesn’t pay for revives. And…

Review – Cinnamon Bun, the Trilogy

Broccoli Bunch is a 16 year old Canadian teleported to a new world and given a quest – “A great evil has set its root in the world. You are called upon to save it!” To help her, she is given a class: The Cinnamon Bun, “Too good for this world. Too pure. You are the perfect support and friend to all. Nature itself smiles upon you.” Thus begins her adventure across the planet Dirt, in a high stakes yet surprisingly slice-of-life high fantasy story that is guaranteed to make you smile. I’m not going to lie, there’s going to be a certain type of person who doesn’t like this…

    Review: Fortnite – The Series

It was only a matter of time before the Fortnite video game craze led to a cinematic experience. What is so surprising is how many liberties were taken with the franchise, complete with the hilariously awful translation of the game’s namesake in Korean. Fortnite focuses on John “The Reaper” Wick, a man with a gambling addict who finds himself brought into a mysterious Battle Royale thanks to the underpinnings of the IO company. He finds himself competed with hundreds of other contestants, with the goal of gaining the Victory Royale and with that the prize of 45 billion won (approximately 38 million V-bucks.) The series takes a lot of liberties…

    Review – Bravely Default II

It took over 80 hours, but I’ve unlocked all the endings and beaten all of the “optional” class trials of the Switch game Bravely Default II (which is coming to Steam later this year.) I’ll be honest, I wish I’d quit playing at the forty hour mark. I’m not going to say this is a bad game and people shouldn’t play it, but I am going to point out that it’s an excessive disappointment and the more time a player spends on it the longer that player is going to realize how flawed it is. The Premise: Bravely Default 2 follows the antics of Seth, who is a guy in…
